Evercore Heroes is an upcoming MOBA from Vela Games that's unlike anything else in the genre. In each match, four teams compete to clear objectives and be the first to defeat a massive final boss. There's no direct PvP combat, instead, you'll be competing against the other teams by strategizing and adapting to what they do.
Each player picks a character with a set of unique abilities and works with their four-person team to plot a path through a battle arena that's full of AI-controlled monsters and enemies. Slaying monsters grants XP and gold which can be used to upgrade your character, while securing objectives increases your team's Luum, a magical resource that you have to gather to access the final boss arena.
Teamwork is crucial at every stage of the game, whether you're assembling the right team composition to ensure you've got a robust mix of attack, support, and defense, or you're splitting up across the map to capture key objectives. Depending on the objectives you seek out, you can either gain advantages for your team or block progress for the others, so be prepared to change your tactics at a moment's notice. Gathering Luum powers up your team's Evercore, but be warned that enraged monsters will start attacking your Evercore over the course of a game - if it gets destroyed then it's game over for you and your friends. As soon as a team manages to breach the barrier to the boss arena all four teams face off against the final boss in a challenge-based, multi-phased fight to claim victory. Evercore Heroes isn't just about the in-match experience either. Progress and experience earned in each session will count towards character and hero advancement that will benefit you in subsequent battles. The current roster of Evercore Heroes consists of eight characters and includes healers, archers, duelists, mages, and much more. The hero gallery on the official website shows blank portraits for an additional 12 heroes, so more will surely be revealed soon.
There will be five Evercore Heroes maps at launch that will represent different regions of the world of Lumerea. So far, only two have been unveiled: Kru and Moxy.
Kru is known as the land of seven peaks and is a cold, demanding landscape, while Moxy is a vibrant jungle island that grows on the back of a giant gigaturtle.Developer Vela Games has not announced an Evercore Heroes release date yet but says it's aiming to get the game into the hands of players in 2023.
Closed playtests are happening now and you might be able to join the testing by registering on the official site and signing up for the official Evercore Heroes Discord. Vela Games is expanding playtests as it nears release so more and more players will be invited to join.Yes, Evercore Heroes is completely free to play. There will of course be a monetization model, but the core game is free. Vela Games says it wants to make the business model as fair as possible for all players, so we're expecting paid items like cosmetics and possibly some kind of battle pass system.
The only confirmed Evercore Heroes platform right now is PC, which is the platform where all playtests have taken place.
